INDIANA | Christina Hale

A lifelong Hoosier, Christina understands the challenges that families in the 5th District face every day. She earned her degree at Purdue while raising her son as a single mom, balancing work and school with daycare runs and bedtime stories. She ensured Owen had health insurance, even when she couldn’t afford it for herself. Those were difficult times, but led Christina to a career in service of others.

As a nonprofit leader at Kiwanis International, Christina focused on community and economic development, putting politics aside to work on problems here in Indiana and around the world. She decided to first run for the State House when she saw that the needs of her community weren’t being addressed. Christina spent months knocking on doors and listening to the concerns of her neighbors. And she won, becoming only the second Latina ever elected to the Indiana General Assembly.

While serving in the Indiana General Assembly, Christina earned a reputation as someone who got good things done for people. Even as a member of a super-minority, she was able to pass more than 60 bills, every single one with bipartisan support.

Christina’s priorities if elected include: helping her district overcome the effects of covid-19, lowering healthcare costs, protecting the environment, strengthening the economy; expanding access to affordable, quality childcare and early childhood education, investing in public schools, and ensuring school safety by enacting common sense gun safety laws.
